 A favourite, medieval town wonderfully preserved yet lively & up to date. The Saturday
 market is a must.
 

 Villeneuve d'Aveyron
 A fortified town (Bastide) much as it was way back in the Middle Ages. Gorgeous square.
 

 Villefranche de Rouergue
 Another, larger, bastide. Wonderful market on Thursday. Also has several large
 Hypermarkets & several good restaurants.
 

 Capdenac le Haut
 Last stand of the Gauls? Roman ruins and pretty village, wonderful views.

 

 Belcastel
 Fascinating castle, beautiful village and one of the best restaurants in the region!
 

Conques
  Another rare and natural village from the medieval era, well worth a visit.
 

Najac
 Fortified hill town with both a castle & a large church. Several places to eat.
 (A favorite is the cheap & cheerful pizzeria.)

 

St Cirq La Popie
  Beautiful with some very interesting shops. Stunning views.
